Amnesia

Childhood toys represent all that is playful and innocent, however a transformation takes place when they’re left alone and without a child. Questions arise around whether the toys were lost or forgotten. Are they missed? And what becomes of each item once it has been misplaced? Don’t we lose things because at some point we forget about them?

I’ve found that the images in the Amnesia collection resonate with people and create quite polarising reactions. Some revel in the whimsy of a toy abandoned in such a beautiful environment and others are reminded of an innocence lost or a forgotten childhood. Some see darker undertones and others are simply reminded of a cherished toy they once forgot.
